I’ve been asked by a few people about how my online mindfulness courses work, so I thought I would write a short blog on the advantages of an online course and some dos and don’ts to be aware of. I hope this is helpful!

Here are some top tips for participating in an online mindfulness course on Zoom:


1.     Create a Dedicated Space: Set up a quiet, comfortable area in your home specifically for the course. This space should be free from distractions and have a calming ambiance and comfortable seating.

2.     Prioritise Privacy and Confidentiality:

Ensure your participation in the course remains private. Use headphones if necessary and inform others in your household about your session times to avoid interruptions. This is crucial, not only for your own focus but also to maintain the confidentiality of other participants, especially during discussions of sensitive topics.

3.     Embrace the Technology: Familiarise yourself with Zoom's features beforehand. Test your audio and video to ensure they are working properly. Learn how to use functions like 'mute', ‘hand up’, and 'chat'. This technical preparation will help you engage more smoothly in the course.
